Surface treatment

Only final surface treatment will give your high-precision part the finishing touch. You can take that literally, since we can touch up the surface with a slide-grinding finish (trowalising®*) at your request.

But all types of galvanisation and, of course, other kinds of surface finish can also be provided in cooperation with one of our reliable partners. Or, if you wish, your parts can also be powder-coated in our own facility – in the RAL shades of your choice.

As you can see, our possibilities are (almost) unlimited – just test us!

*Trowalising® or barrel finishing is the name of a mechanical and chemical process for deburring and polishing metal parts. VORMANN applies this process exclusively to stainless steel products.

The stainless steel parts are placed in a rubber-clad drum together with (mostly ceramic) chips, water and a detergent compound. By rotation or vibration of the drum, some material is rubbed off the surfaces and the edges of the metal parts. The barrel finishing process produces an extremely smooth surface and, depending on the length of the polishing process, a silky gloss that gives the products a touch of elegance.

The term Trowalising® originated from the company Walther Trowal, which was the first to use this barrel finishing process commercially.
