The company

As early as 1863, Ludwig Vormann established a forge in Ennepetal. This has since developed into a company with the latest manufacturing techniques. An in-house design department, a tool-making facility controlled mainly by a 2D/3D CAD/CAM system, a technically sophisticated range of machinery including automatic stamping machines with forces of between 45 and 400 tonnes, EDM machines, a milling centre and modern grinding machines are visible signs of this technical development.

Optimal orientation to customers’ demands was the main objective when the company acquired a further production plant in Elsterwerda, Brandenburg, the traditional builders’ hardware centre of the former GDR, in the early 1990s. The Elsterwerda plant was modernised within a short time so that it is now absolutely on a par with the original location in Ennepetal. Moreover, the Elsterwerda plant is equipped with powder coating facilities. Both plants are linked to each other via a WAN network and a dedicated ISDN line.

After concentrating for many years on the production and supply of standard products, such as hinges, joining elements, chains and ropes, shelving systems as well as hand rail and banister systems, the company has recently diversified into the production of parts according to drawings to an increasing extent. Today, Vormann is able to manufacture and supply customised hinges according to drawings, stampings, press-bent parts, assemblies and follow-on composite tools for industrial production. We also specialise in job order production, such as grinding, milling and die-cutting, and can offer surface treatment from our own powder-coating facility. Other types of surface finish are available from our cooperation partners of long standing.

In everything we do, quality is our top priority. Our certification according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2008 and subsequent regular re-audits are your guarantee that the required quality standards are being met. At the same time, this is an incentive for us to continue to improve our performance in all areas.

It goes without saying that we need well-trained staff to perform all the services we offer. For this reason, trainee positions in our production facilities are offered each year to prospective industrial mechanics and toolmakers. As a result, we are optimally prepared for the coming years and can meet the ever-increasing demands of our customers.
